When beginning a new personal training relationship, I focus on finding out what is important to you, the client. What are your goals, what is important to you in not just in your fitness but in your family, work and personal life as well. Why? Because better health cannot happen without at least some balance and harmony in all areas of your life. This means that we will talk about sources of stress in your life and we will try to address them in ways that help reduce stress and bring more balance.

We will also talk about self care and honoring your relationship with you. Many people think of improving their fitness as a function of simply exercising more often and more consistently. While this is a key element of improving your health, countless bodies of research show us that, as in most worthwhile pursuits, much more is required. The body likes its (sometimes dysfunctional) comfort zones and holds on to stress, making improving one’s health harder.

My approach is to help you in concrete ways during our sessions to work toward the goals you’ve defined, and to coach you on ways you can help reach those goals more easily by addressing areas where stress and habit might be inhibiting your success, like rest and recovery, stress management, positive self-talk, connecting with others in meaningful ways, or taking time for yourself.

I will ALWAYS work to find ways to help you realize your innate worthiness and awesome potential as a human being.
